Dr. Jake Potter

Dr. Potter and his wife, Josie, are both from Rexburg Idaho. After dating at BYU, they decided to get married and moved back home to Rexburg to finish school at BYU-Idaho. Dr. Potter received a degree in Exercise Physiology. While there, his internship consisted of training a group of contestants for “The Biggest Winner”, a weight loss program at BYU-Idaho. He enjoyed the training and teaching of the contestants and still has a passion for improving the health of those who are seeking it. While living in Rexburg, Dr. Potter and his wife had their first 2 children, Nick, and Milo. Upon graduation, his little family decided to take a small break from school before starting the rigors of graduate school, so they moved into an RV and lived and worked in Bryce Canyon National Park for a season. The natural beauty of the area enchanted the whole family, and was a big factor in ending up in Cedar City years later. The Potters got to Missouri where Jake began the Doctor of Chiropractic program at Logan University just in time to welcome their third child, Evangeline into the family. While he was a student there in Chesterfield, MO, Dr. Potter spent time giving tours of Logan University’s anatomy/cadaver lab and enjoyed sharing the mystery and majesty of the human body with visiting groups.

He graduated cum laude and received a service award for his contributions to the school, and the students housed there. Dr. Potter’s love for meditation began during his undergraduate years, and continues to this day. He became a certified Meditation and Mindfulness Teacher from the School of Positive Transformation, and a certified Breath Coach through YogaBody. Dr. Potter loves sharing mindfulness, meditation, and movement advice. The Potter family moved to Cedar City in 2021 and Jake has been practicing chiropractic care here since then! The Potters had their 4th and 5th children, Felix and Alvin, here in Cedar City! Dr. Potter believes that health encompasses physical, mental, spiritual, and social well-being. He takes that into account when treating patients. All areas need to be in harmony to live life to the fullest. He strives to keep them harmonious in himself, and help others live in holistic wellness. The nervous system is a connector of all of these areas. By influencing your nervous system through chiropractic care, you’ll not only feel better, but heal better. When Dr. Potter is not being a chiropractor, he loves exploring in Southern Utah, and living the foodie life. His gastronomic passions include making wood-fired pizza, recreating his favorite dishes from around the world, and crafting bean to bar chocolate in his improvised chocolate factory (RV in the backyard).
